The on or after scares me a little but I guess it's something positive.

Can't believe Food TV HD isn't included. My wife won't be a happy camper.

I just saw a commercial on Time Warner Cable (Channel 51 - Comedy Central) that A&E HD will be available on March 18, 2008. The channel number listed on the commercial was the same as the one above. They were advertising that Gene Simmons reality tv show that is broadcast in HD.

We already get Sports Time Ohio HD. It on during baseball season.

I'll like National Geographic Channel HD & A&E HD.

My wife will kill for HGTV HD.

Can we please get SciFi HD??

Do we know if these channels are Switched Digital Channels? (If they are they won't work on Cable Card devices).

I would also like to see...

Discovery Channel HD (different than HD Theater)
Science Channel HD
TLC HD
Animal Planet HD

I'm sorry, but you will most likely be waiting a while for these, at least 6 months. If possible, I highly recommend going to a dish. I went with D* last November and haven't looked back.

I am a die-hard Tivo user. I have a Tivo Series 3 with 1.5TB (200 HRS of HD recording) that I have invested a fair amount of money in. The other DVR's from satellite and cable do not even come close. If DirectTV still offered Tivo based DVR's I would be seriously considering them.

If anyone in these forums would like to come to my place to cut down a tree in my neighbor's yard, I would love to switch to a satellite provider.

Otherwise, I'm stuck bitching about Time Warner and their paltry HD line up.

That 200 hours of recording doesn't mean much when theres only 10-15 channels to choose from. Besides, what about the SDV switch, isn't that going to affect what channels you are able to receive? The recent software upgrades for the HR20/21 have made a world of difference in the DVR capabilities for DirecTv. It's no Tivo that's for sure, but it does some things very well.

Actually I have managed to come close to filling up that 200 hours. You would be surprised how fast you can fill it up.

There is a device called the "Tuning Resolver" coming around Q2 of this year that will allow the Cable Card based Tivo's to receive SDV channels.

Well, it's a start.

In addition to the channels listed above, I'd want CNN, Cinemax, Weather and Speed.
