Hey all,
It's been a while since I posted on this forum, mainly because things have been working well until recently.
A couple of weeks ago, as I was attempting to connect an old Samsung DirecTV receiver to my Mitsubishi 55", the video rolled a couple of times, then winked out to a blue screen. Next thing I knew, the TV powered off. Turning it back on brought me the green power light, a click, then powered off after two seconds.
Holding down the input and menu buttons for 5 seconds yields a blink code of 2-2 indicating a "short protect". According to http://www.fixya.com/support/t181017-mitsubishi_ws_55819_power_issue, I've either got a blown fuse (or fuses), or a leaky capacitor.
Any suggestions as to whether I should try to fix it myself (I spent about 10 years doing board level repairs on computer equipment back in the 70s and 80s), or just sell it for parts?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
