Whole House DVR Problem

Have had whole house dvr couple of weeks. Having a problem with the home dvr. The picture goes black for a couple of seconds, this happens with live and recorded programs. The other dvr (client) plays fine whether it is recorded or not. Had the host box replaced still happens. TV plays fine with dvd player, have changed HDMI cable still happens. I have the Cisco boxes tempted to see if I an get Samsung boxes. Anyone having this issue ?
