I'm moving into a new house in a few weeks in Powell and will be having Dish Network Installed at the same time. I'm currently a WOW cable subscriber and have never had satellite TV. I signed up for the Platinum HD package from Dish and was under the assumption that it included my locals in HD. After doing some more research I'm starting to realize that the only way I'm going to get local HD is via a OTA antenna. The New Dish Network HD boxes appear to have an OTA tuner built in.

Should I expect whoever shows up to install the Dish will be putting an OTA antenna up as well? Or should I plan on buying an OTA myself and seeing if he'll install it for me? Or can I get away with an indoor atenna that I can just plug into the Dish box myself?

If any one can give me any info about what I should expect from Dish in regards to HD locals and or a recommendation for a HD antenna in powell I would appreciate it.

thanks

I have DirecTV, but its about the same. Best way is to get an antenna your self and hook it up. If Dish is like DirecTV the antenna they use is not worth much. With that said there are two ways to go indoor or outdoor antenna. I use an indoor antenna with great results (I live in Hilliard). For the Powell area I don't know for an indoor antenna how it will perform. Outdoor for the most part does get great reception, but it requires time and effort to install correctly. Some installers will hook up your own antenna for a fee on the side, so you can do that too. Look thru all the threads here and you can get more feedback on it. Good luck.

thank you.

I think I'll do some more research on an indoor antenna. however if I need an installer for an outdoor antenna do you have any recommendations?

I read somewhere that Dish Network is rolling out HD locals as part of their regular HD package over the next year. Hopefully Columbus is high on the list.
