I am planning on installing the Moxi DVRs on Time Warner in Columbus. Does anyone know what the status is on the Cable Cards and/or SDV Tuning adapters? What I mean is that the last time I tried Time Warner with a Tivo they moved all the HD channels where I couldn't get them any more and they didn't have the tuning adapter available.
Does anyone have the Moxi's DVRs and do they work with TWC in Columbus? How about Tivo? I assume that the cable cards haven't changed any and you need both the cable card and SDV Tuning Adapter? Anyone have any comments about the SDV Tuning Adapter from Time Warner, available, good or bad?

I had TW with Tivo 3, two cablecards, and tuning adapter until yesterday. I recently switched to WOW because the tuning adapters are very flaky. Mine would work for a few weeks, then stop working. After a couple hours of messing with it, I could usually get it working again, but I just got tired of the hassle. The cablecards were working great, but not the tuning adapter. Since WOW does not have switched digital video, and they have all the channels I care about in HD, and have a lower price, I decided to give them a try. So far (one day) the cablecards are working fine.
Also, I have 2 friends who both have switched from Time Warner to Uverse because they couldn't get their tuning adapters to stay working either. So they end up ditching their Tivos.

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid I was going to hear something like that. I had tried with TWC about a year and a half ago. I got a TIVO. They brought the cable card out and had no idea how to install it but it is a must that TWC must send a tech out to install their cable card in your equipment. We got it working pretty quickly. I noticed I didn't have all the stations. I asked them about the switched digital video adapter. They said it wasn't available yet. I start loosing more and more stations. After about a month I cancelled the service and went back with Directv. I had to pay $200 per box (two of them) but I didn't own the boxes and now found out they have a contract. I am into the contract a little over a year. My account now has $30 more per month tacked onto it. I didn't want any "special" just good service. I decided to go with a Moxi and back to cable. At least Moxi has a no questions asked policy for 30 days that you can return the box no questions asked. They are supposed to deliver and install the card and adapter on Saturday. The moxi is do here tomorrow. I am now not looking forward to this at all. It's DLNA compatible and thought this would be the answer to everything I wanted. You would think a cable company could just provide service, I guess now. I didn't sign a contract with them but they wanted me to, glad I didn't. I am also looking at PlayOnHD and the Zaggbox to complement what I thought would be at least good tv. Thanks again for your help.

I would have definitely gone with WOW but's it's not available in Orient (well in the country near Orient). I definitely would have rather had them with no Switched Digital Video Adapter.

Please let us know how it goes. I have been following the Moxi for weeks and have hesitated for all the same issues you bring up. I like the Moxi price and features, but if it's not dependable on TWC, I wouldn't want it even if it were free.
Did you get the 2 or 3-tuner model? I hear that the TA will only support 2 tuners and that the 3rd tuner becomes unusable.

I was looking at the Moxi 3-tuner 500GB model on Amazon. There is an interesting review which says to be sure to request an M cable card, not an S card. Is that available from TWC? My TWC bill includes $9.95 for DVR Service and $7.95 for DVR recorder. Will these both be eliminated? And replaced with how much for cable card? Thanks.

Yes, you eliminate both charges. I believe the M card is only 2 or 3 bucks.
