Need some ideas

All,
I've got a 57" Toshiba 57HDX82. While watching the Golf channel through D*TV , I see they have a " ticker" bar running at the bottom of the screen. On the Toshiba, I can barely see the top of the bar. On my 40" sony in the bedroom, I can see it just fine. It's been moons since it's been calibrated. Will this help with this issue? :confused:

It sounds like you need to check your aspect ratio. Some set also have a zoom setting. Probably NOT calibration.

I have tried that with no luck. You only get a natural and 3 theater modes to play with. It will show up if I change the resolution to 480p, but anything higher and it goes away.

Weird. I would say to check the aspect ratio on your D* remote (I can control aspect via my TV or my Dish Receiver) but you said that changing the TV to 480P allows you to fix the issue. Your natural setting shouldn't cut off any parts of the picture.

Still, check the D* remote. On my dish remote I have it set to do a partial zoom with 4:3 SD channels and do a normal with 16:9 HD channels.

I just tried changing everything I can possibly change on the D*tv receiver, no luck. Whats funny is I can tune to ESPN, CNN, ESPNNEWS, FBNHHD. I can see all of their tickers at the bottom of the screen. Just not the Golf Channel.

If the other channels are fine I'm betting that it's the golf channel itself. I've never watched that channel. I don't even know if I get it in HD so I can't comment on it.

I have no issues with Golf Channel and Directv (218 HD or 218). That makes me wonder. Strange that it seems to be just that channel for you.
