Hello,

My dad and I are trying to set up our new Wii, and we need to find a source for very short component cables. Is there any place we can find a cable of about 1 ft? We'll be running it from our cable box to a switch box, then to our stereo unit, so 6ft (even 3ft!) is overkill. Thanks in advance!

Most stores carry cables as low as 3 feet. You may want to check online vs. trying to locate via local stores.

If you have the tools or know someone that does, you can just use RG6 coax and get 10 RCA-F adapters. Cut 5 pieces of coax to size, prep and put fittings on each end (and not the crappy twist-on ones from the dollar store, try and get some decent compression ones or at least snap-n-seal fittings. Once the coax is set, simply screw each end of each cable jumper to an RCA-F adapter and, if you like, label each one with some colored tape and there ya go, custom component cables.

I dont know if that is in any way workable for you guys but its an idea!

Try monoprice.com

They have amazingly low priced HDMI cables (like $3 for a 6-ft. cable)
