WCPX LP48 is schedule to turn off their analog signal on 12.01.2009. I didn't ask the GM if they are going to flash cut on UHF 48 or move to UHF 25. If they move to UHF 25 that means that WSYX is free to move to UHF 48. Rescan your tuners or manually tune to 48.1 or 25.1.

I hope this time Luis can really do the switch this time. 48 was going to originally switch in the spring, then by July. I know the economy probably isn't the greatest for a media outlet right now, but short of getting on cable, I believe to have a chance of reaching an over the air audience, low power stations need to switch to digital.

GTN 23 is still doing the analog, but at least it seems to have a good bit of local ads, and it is on two of the local cable systems here in Columbus. 48 as far as I know isn't on cable here.

Oh by the way, speaking of GTN, has nayone heard anything about .2 network.......it was supposed to debut last month after its 3rd delay.......

From the FCC data base they are moving to UHF 25, the CP that was once posted for UHF 48 was cancelled, I assume to make room for WSYX to move over from the VHF 13 where they are now.

In about two weeks we shall know that WCPX LP48 will turn off their analog tower.

Of course, if WSYX gets the FCC go ahead to move to channel 48 from channel 13, it gives WCPX no other choice but to move......

Is there any truth to the rumors that WCPX LP48 will muticast? They have the rights to broadcast Mexicanal. Plus are they also trying to broadcast Univision as well? It will help to offset the RF 38-5, 38-8 and 38-9.

As for multicasting, when I talked to Luis at 48 in the summer, he said they would have 4 subchannels.......and with Azteca, Mexicanal, and possibly LATV and CV, he would have 4 networks. Maybe Univision----depending on the contractual stuff that they have with the cable systems.......but then again, I thought that Telemundo was cable contractual here, yet WDEM is putting it on as a subchannel, so Univision may be a possibility.

I'd like to see them do 3 Spanish subchannels with an English one thrown in (say, like ION?)

It's available on UVerse, FWIW.

ION? The Infomercial Only Network? LATV does offer english programming.

While it's true they do run a bunch of informercials during the daytime, shows like MASH, Boston Legal, etc. air from 4 or 5 in the afternoon on, and that's when I would be watching......

I've gotten another email about the future of UHF 48. The GM will keep the analog signal on for a few more months. He will muticast the digital signal for four digital subchannels.

Is WCPX on HD UHF25 yet? They seem to be off of their analog channel UHF48 but no trace of them on HD UHF25.

DTV and HDTV are not the same. Not all tv stations broadcast in HD. There are stations in Columbus broadcast standard definition.

The CH. 48 GM sent me this email today. He has this to say:

"I now know for sure it is March 1st on 23.2 ,at&T 48"

But he hasn't met a few other target dates so don't hold your
breath on this one.
