Here's what is going on with WDEM-CD 17. Jason Perkins has resign from the station. November 16 is the start of America One programming. No word if it will affect the local content on the station. Telemundo is a go on 17.2. They are still working on some deal with the local cable systems before they launch their latino sub channel.

Any more updates on WDEM? They seem to be having problems with their
transmitter because I notice I can't pick up the signal when it gets very hot
outside. The signal goes off the air or is intermittent when it is hot outside.

I have also noticed their signal goes from 0 to 9 bars at times. I think they have some bugs in their station. At times the lips doen't move in sinc with the sound also on channel 39 (8) does this all the time. Anyone know when these smaller stations will debug the digital signals. Kirk

They have been off the air since May 1. A friend, who works at their tower site,
told me the WDEM-17 transmitter is off and they have a new transmitter and antenna waiting to be installed at the WDEM tower site.

This is what the filled with the FCC on May 31:

Description: JUSTIFICATION FOR SILENT STA

ON MAY 1, 2011 TRIPLETT & ASSOCIATES, INC. ('TRIPLETT') WAS FORCED TO DISCONTINUE BROADCAST OPERATIONS OF ITS DIGITAL CLASS A TELEVISION STATION, WDEM-CD. ON MAY 5, 2011 TRIPLETT NOTIFIED THE COMMISSION OF THE TEMPORARARY DISCONTINUANCE OF OPERATIONS, AND NOW SEEKS A SIX-MONTH SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY TO REMAIN SILENT. DUE TO CAUSES BEYOND THE LICENSEES CONTROL, TRIPLETT LOST ACCESS TO THE TOWER SITE, WHICH IS OWNED BY A THIRD PARTY. NEGOTIATIONS TO REGAIN ACCESS TO THE TOWER SITE ARE ONGOING, BUT TRIPLETT HAS NOT YET BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN SECURING SUCH ACCESS, AND THEREFORE REQUESTS FCC CONSENT TO REMAIN OFF THE AIR WHILE IT CONTINUES ITS EFFORTS TO SECURE ACCESS TO THE TOWER SITE AND RESUME BROADCAST OPERATIONS.

Sure hope WDEM-TV CH17 can work out their rental dispute with the owners
of the WBNS-TV tower. It appears WDEM CH17 lost their lease for their antenna
on top of the WBNS-TV tower and was evicted from the WBNS-TV tower site.
