60% of your screen to be election results as they letterbox, sidebar and smash your picture into a postage stamp sized screen for you to watch your big lineup of Tuesday night shows on.

Last election was terrible, I can only imagine what they will do to it this year.

I think WBNS was the only one who did it this bad and maybe WSYX 6 had just a small ticker/banner running along the bottom.

break out your handheld 3" black and white from Radio Shack 70's era TV and you'll be watching the same size screen I will be tonight on my 46" Sony HDTV.

This so annoying. Just like the weather alerts every spring.

Do stations actually think that people want this?

I have an idea for them if they just have to put this stuff on the screen. Keep the regular programming in the center of the screen so that we can use the zoom feature to send the crap off to the sides/top/bottom.

I think they should send all this stuff (as well as school closings) to a subchannel. A small, unobtrusive graphic could direct the viewer to the other channel if they're interested.

Actually, WSYX didn't do too bad of a job. I only saw it a couple of times and when they did do it, they threw a graphic down at the bottom. Yeah, it screwed up the aspect ratio a bit; but, nothing like WBNS.
