It appears that WDEM CD is going to be the new home of Telemundo. Plus the station going to be afillate with NBC Universal Sports.
But they so need to boost their signal........at 1.05 kw on UHF, it's quite weak.

I have no issues picking up the station. It would be nice if their ERP would be 10.5KW.
Then I live in a downtown 4th floor Columbus apartment. That helps with the reception.

Yeah, what's the deal? I have no problem since I have an outdoor antenna at home and in my office downtown (cheap rabbit ears), but that seems way off of the 15-kw low power stations were supposed to be authorized with.

Today WDEM CD is going to stop broadcasting for awhile. They are going to move their general entertainment programming to 17.3. 17.1 is going to air the NBC Universal Sports feed.
I emailed the station on why they are doing this.
Yeah, that's weird....wonder why the main channel is being moved to the end of the tier?
And I guess the local Hispanic channel on .2 and the "rerun channel" on .3 were either not working or just filler until they acquired networks for the subchannels.
Maybe, the Telemundo and Universal Sports additions will cause the station to boost power...

I hardly call the current 17.1 programming is just reruns. The have the following:
Lifeline Columbus
Mad Labs Theater
Shadowbox (true re purpose from WTTE DT)
OSU Writers
Outlook Weekly TV
Frontstage TV
Columbus Film Factory
That's more local programming than most of the full power stations.
Note by the time of someone replying the moved to 17.3 would be complete.
I didn't call the programming on 17.1 a rerun channel, I said 17.3,,,,,,,aren't they replaying the local stuff that originally shows on 17.1?
I said this because when I was at a friend's place in Clintonville watching 17.3, they were showing Jason Pedrkins' Lifeline Columbus show with the Beatles tribute band...one that i have seen maybe 5 times already

It appears that WDEM CD turned on 17.4. The digital subchannel is Columbus Video Ma AKA infomercials. This station used to have so much potential. Sigh.

You would think at least one channel would be local.

I think 0.2 on the local Hispanic channel and "re-run channel", or did not work for 0.3 or just fill until they get the network subchannels.
