View Full Version : Owner your own TV translator station
Welll not exactly. I picked up a couple of the UHF TV transmitters on the web at http://www.camera-supply.com/wv-300.html. They work really well for about 100 ft on UHF ch 14-31. I removed the internal power supply transformer since it ran awfully warm. I used a 12v 400ma wall wort.
The unit can be used as a short range UHF tansmitter or a UHF modulator. I use it to watch digital stations on my analog tv and a portable I have. The picture is great and the audio level is excellent. Just thought this gadget might be of interest to someone. BTW someone on the web stated it looks like it is NOT UL or FCC approved. Thats probably why it has such a good range, and the power transformer is connetect to the line cord with wire nuts. Please remember your nieghbors could tune in. kirk

Sounds good. Great job budy, I think you could patent it, :) Why don't you share a picture of the gadget out here. I like experimental devices and also people making them

What's the advantage of this over a $10 converter box?
