BBC America HD is scheduled to start in mid-July.
Any word on whether Time Warner is picking it up then?

The actual start date for BBCA in HD is 20 July.
I too am wondering if TWC will pick it up and where they will put it. I am holding up getting rid of the HD Gold, just on the chance they may put it in that package.

The launch of BBC America HD coincides w/ the premier of season 3 of Torchwood, on July 20th.
Problem is, I doubt any cable providers have the channel the day it's launched =/.
I'll have Insight (sigh.) as of July 30th... but, correct me if I'm wrong, I think I have to pay 10$ extra per month for some special digital package of like 30 extra channels... one of which is BBC America... so I doubt I get this new HD addition.
I hate Insight.

Looks like I'll be watching Torchwood in low-def-fuzzy.
I phoned Time-Warner today, and they tell me that there is no plan to add this channel at this time.
They may have plans, but they are not filtered down to the resources available to the customer service people.

Whether the customer reps know much of anything about plans is a good question. The same could be said for the TWC website. The best way, I think, is to just try it on the 20th and see if they have added the channel. If not, Dr Who and Torchwood will be in SD, but apparently uncut. Better than nothing.

If TWC doesn't add BBCA-HD on 7/20, there's still a chance they could post Torchwood in HD on On-Demand (795). They've done that with a few other select programs, like Mad Men (which airs on AMC). It's not likely, but we can dream.
