Does anyone have information on the following local Columbus stations as to when they may go Digital and if they are changing there transmitting channel?

WGCT-CA CH 8
W43BZ CH 43
W23BZ CH 23
WCLL-CA CH 19
WCSN-LP CH 32
WCPX-LP CH 48

also it looks to me like WSYX-DT may go from ch 13 to 48 when WCPX-LP goes to ch 25 when they go digital. Is this correct?

I have no news on channels 32 and 43. Since they are infomercials and shopping, I would assume that for the time being they will stay analog.

As for WCPX channel 48, here's an email from a few months back:

Concerning channel 19 Daystar, two weeks ago I called their Dallas HQ's, and was told that they would not be switching to digital in the near future. I know that they have a CP for a digital channel here in town (maybe channel 37?),. but no switching in the near future was what I was told.

I called GTN 23 right after seeing this post, and they say the same thing-no plans to cut to digital in the near future. You would think they woukld use some of that $15 million they got from selling channel 51 to TBN invested for switching to digital......

This leaves channel 8, owned by the church based COACB organization. I talked to David Aiken (COACB's president) a few weeks ago. They are on digital in Marion and Delaware channels with 4 subchannels on each (one is Daystar). But he says they can't do that here on channel 8 until they get the fundinbg for it. And....his appeal to churches and church groups has fallen on deaf ears.

Here's the story:

In the early days of WSFJ TV 51 they did a lot of fund raising to keep the channel running. Many people and churches gave money, and many local ministries were on the channel. When GTN sold to Trinity, many of those folks who gave felt sold out, and unless and until Mr Aiken can get the funding, channel 8 cannot flshcut to digital.

Sorry the last blurb took a bunch of space, but I hope that answers the questions....if anyone has any other news, please add it.

I noticed ch 32 is off the air. Did they get stiffed by time life for not paying for the info commercial  or just forget to pay the light bill? Or are they going digital? :hdlove:

To be honest, I hate the thought that 32 may have stopped broadcasting (though I may try to contact them next week to find out for sure). When they came on the air, I enjoyed watching all the sports they aired. However, the informercial 32 just was a bit of a waste.

But with the other commercial TV outlets in town vying for the ad dollars, guess there wasn't enough to go around.....

looks like the station is being sold, there is an application to transfer the licence to Columbus TV LLC not sure what the plans for the station are at this point, but there is also a construction permit for Digital Service on channel 33

And as some of you know, 32 is back on the air and 48 is still on the analog band, a day after their projected date of flipping to digital.

Just looked at the web site of ch23 and they went off the air 2-18-11 and should be back on 3-2-11 as digital. Don't know if they will add any sub channels. Kirk

WCLL-CA CH19 now on the air in digital. They moved to the WBNS tower last
Friday.

What about WCSN-LP CH 32 and WGCT-CA CH 8?? Anyone have any updates on this?

WDEM-TV CH17 is off the air indefinitely because they last their lease on the WBNS-TV tower.
