Hey all,

I seem to have found an angle on my antenna that allows me to get the major Columbus stations, as well as a bunch of Dayton stations. Only thing is, the Dayton stations only come in during the morning hours (until maybe 10 am) and then seem to disappear. Are they boosting their power in the morning and then taking it down later, or is it a fluke that I'm getting these channels? This morning I had 2.1,2.2,7.1,7.2,16.1-16.5,45.1,45.2 and the analog signals for 22 and 26. I did a scan this morning and had 20 stations come up, and was able to add 7-8 more with the rotor, which is a record for me.

Another weird thing- channel 45 & 22 supposedly broadcast from the same spot, but I can't get the digital signal for 22, only 45. The analog 22 comes in pretty clear though, so I'm a little confused.

Oh, and I'm on the east side of Lancaster, BTW. Thanks!

Radio waves are greatly influenced by atmospheric conditions. Ie heat, humidity, where your neighbor parks his car, etc all contribute to the propegation or blocking of the signal.

Ar 12:30 this afternoon, I was picking up all the Dayton digital channels, including WKEF digital channel 22.1 which I had never picked up before. Then around 1:30, they all faded out into oblivion again. Since it was mid afternoon, I wondered if it was just the atmosphere conditions or if they all decided to boost their signals.

This Monday I turned on the tv and scanned the channels. WOW it was like a 500 ft tower for a while .picked up all locals and:
7 whio
26 wbdt
2 wdtn
16 wptd
45 wrgt
2 2 wkef
5 wlwt
43 wkoi
48 wcet
64 wstr
This was as much fun as a kid watching tv at 1:30 am when when 4,6 and 10 went off the air to pick up 3 wvah 7 whio 11 wvah and 5 wlwt in the 60's. I have an antennas dircet c4 model mounted about 12 feet off the ground on a "j mount"on the south wall of the house on the east side of columbus. Just a short 5 ft lead in :D with no amplifier. I use and armstrong antenna rotor. I can't wait till the skip from the sun spot cycle peaks in a few years. Kirk

Dayton coming in loud and clear all evening beginning at about 6 pm. Outdoor antenna also on the east side.

I also loved DX-ing as a kid, regularly receiving WSAZ, WHIO, WDTN. Sometimes WKEF, WHIZ, WTRF, WAKR, WTOL, WSPD and WKYC.
