Looks like the NFL still hates Ohio, especially Columbus. Out of 16 games there are 7 Browns/Bengals TV conflicts. Weeks 3, 5, 6, 7, 15, 16, and 17. Check my work as I looked at this fairly quickly.

DirectTV and their incredibly overpriced monopoly with on-demand NFL is smiling.

Week 3
CBS doubleheader but Browns/Ravens and Bengals/Steelers both at 1:00 on Sun. What Einstein scheduled this? Two divisional rival games at the same time?

Week 5
CBS doubleheader but Browns at Bills and Bengals at Ravens both at 1:00 on Sun.

Week 6
CBS DH but Browns at Steelers and Texans at Bengals both at 1:00 on Sun.

Week 7
FOX DH but Packers at Browns and Bears at Bengals both at 1:00 on Sun. Another stupid move to schedule two inter-conference mathups this way,

Week 15
FOX DH. Browns at Chiefs at 1:00, Bengals at Chargers at 4:00. Both CBS but not a CBS DH week.:(

Week 16
CBS DH but Raiders at Browns and Chiefs at Bengals both at 1:00 on Sun.

Week 17
CBS DH but Jaguar at Browns and Bengals at Jets both at 1:00 on Sun.

I wish that I lived a bit closer to the Toledo or Cleveland broadcast antennas...

hmmm.....looks like I need to find a strong antenna to pick up Dayton's stations OTA, since they usually always carry the Bengals.

With a big antenna pointed in the right direction I might be able to score the cbs dayton affiliate. But being a Browns fan that does me no good.:(

I would never think of going to one of those video sharing sites.;)

Dang. That seems like the most in recent history!

Yep, 7 is a lot.

I went to Direct TV's website to see in what dollar amount they're gouging people for sunday ticket. $279.95 as far as I can tell. Pretty freakin' steep IMO. Radio and highlights are free.

Think of a Browns or Bengals fan in Columbus. How many games will be missed? Anywhere from 0-7 and you have no idea ahead of time. Even if all 7 were missed that's $40game! That is, if you're buying the sunday ticket just to see your team. I'll give up the NFL before I pay that much.

Frank must be absolutely thrilled <sarcasm> about having to once again choose a game then deal with people calling and sending emails.

It doesn't help that they both had crappy seasons--so probably no Monday, Sunday (night) or Thursday games are probably scheduled like in years past.

The Browns have 1 Monday night and 1 Thursday night game this year. I don't know about the Bengals.

If I can't get the Browns game at my house, I just head a mile west to my local Sports bar that happens to be run by a Browns fan so all 12 screens have the Browns game on. $20 for beer and pizza is a lot cheaper then putting in DTV..

Yeah, I just hate having to go out somewhere to watch a game. I typically work out on Sunday mornings and can't get home until 1:00 at the earliest so trying to make it to a bar by then is impossible.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the Browns will be the team to watch so they'll get preference over the Bengals. Weeks 3 and 5 look bleak though.

One less conflict. The Bengals-Steelers game on Week 3 has been moved to 4:15 PM, and CBS has the doubleheader.

Wow, did someone at the front office actually realize that they scheduled two inner-conference rivals at the same time

And I would be willing to bet that the Browns will be shown on Week 6 (Browns at Steelers or Texans at Bengals). WBNS normally shows the Bengals or Browns vs. Steelers games because there is a strong Pittsburgh fan base in Columbus. (Question 7 here (http://www.10tv.com/live/content/sports/2009_nfl.html))

They really did us Browns fans a favor by moving that Week 3 game. Solves 2 conflict weeks at once.

I wonder what will happen in week 5.

The whole "steeler fan base" thing bothers me. Indianapolis is closer to Columbus than Pittsburgh yet I don't see WBNS factoring the Colts into the equation.

I wonder if people in Central PA have to deal with this crap...

Looks like the Bengals get the nod for the first conflict week. Though, with both teams' records, I can't say that I'm too surprised. :ugh:

On Sunday, CBS Sports presents the Cincinnati vs. Baltimore NFL game Sunday at 1 p.m. ... Cleveland vs. Buffalo and Pittsburgh vs. Detroit are both at 1 p.m. Sunday and will not be seen.

This RED ZONE channel on Dishnetwork is very cool and takes away some of the sting of not being able to watch the Browns Games. At least I can see the Highlights ( or Lowlights) as they happen.

I'll probably just listen to the Browns game on sunday on 105.7. I got a new receiver yesterday! With my luck it will probably be the first win of the year...

Another conflict averted. The Bengals game at home against the Bears in Week 7 has been moved to 4:15 PM. Both Cleveland and Cincinnati are on Fox that day. Cleveland hosts Green Bay at 1 PM.

I hope that Scott doesn't ding me for this but I watched the Browns game on my PC on Sunday. The clarity wasn't horrible either. Had only 2 freeze ups for a couple of seconds each.

Horrible, horrible game though. Should have watched Ravens/Bengals instead.

Seconded. I had the Browns game on my PC and the Red Zone Channel going on the TV. At least I had some decent football to watch on TV.

Looks like the NFL actually triple-screwed Central Ohio fans next weekend. According to WTTE's website (here (http://www.myfox28columbus.com/sections/programming/grid.shtml)), next weekend will be Minnesota at Pittsburgh at 1:00, followed by Chicago at Cincinnati at 4:15.

The scheduling genius of the NFL makes my head want to... :explode:
I thought the reschedule of the Bengals game would actually help Browns fans. Guess not.....

Curiously, according to the Yahoo TV listings (as well as TV Guide listings) for October 25, WTTE will carry Green Bay at Cleveland at 1pm, followed by Atlanta at Dallas.

I really hope they aren't showing the Steelers over the Browns here in Columbus. I can't remember that happening before. I realize the Browns are terrible, but they still have a huge fan base and this is Ohio after all.

If WTTE picks the steelers over the browns, I'll be sure to send letters everywhere on earth expressing my anger. This is central OHIO, isn't it? Not central PA...

They must have gotten your letter a little early. If you look at their website, it now shows Green Bay at Cleveland at 1:00. I attached a picture of my DVR Web Guide, and it still shows Minnesota at Pittsburgh. I hope this means WTTE requested a change......

From what I'm reading, here's what happened. Fox assigned Vikes/Steelers to WTTE. WTTE was pretty much clueless until getting bombarded by Browns fans. They petitioned Fox to switch to Packers/Browns and it looks like Fox allowed it.

Some folks got some rather sarcastic emails back from Clay Hall and/or Anthony Rothman. See:

World order is restored. Just got this response from WTTE:

The following is the NFL Lineup for WTTE/FOX28 on Sunday, 10/25....

WTTE/FOX28
NFL ON FOX
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2009
GREEN BAY @ CLEVELAND 1PM (HD)
CHICAGO @ CINCINNATI 4:15PM (HD)
We apologize for the confusion with the listings. FOX notified the listing services with the preliminary game last week, which was the Minnesota/Pittsburgh game. WTTE requested a game change, but final assignments were not made until Tuesday prior to the game (Tuesday, 10/20). It takes the listings a couple days to get everything updated, so that should be reflected on the guides by Thursday. Our local website and the paper should have everything correct as of today.

World order will be restored when the Browns organization is sold to competent ownership.

Not on yesterday and won't be on the next two weeks either.

Instead we get to watch the Bengals since they're leading the division. Anyone care to bet whether they will be one and done in the playoffs?

Browns have won 2 in a row and have become one of the more exciting teams to watch. But due to the insane NFL rules we can't watch them.

I know it's not the fault of wbns but I can't help having hard feelings toward them about this. And are they really getting better ratings from the Bengals? Aren't they having trouble selling out the stadium even with a winning record? Makes me wonder just a bit about the loyalty of the fan base.

Again, can't really blame wbns but...

Not on yesterday and won't be on the next two weeks either.

It really sucks trying to watch a game on a laptop screen because it's not on TV.

I'm just kind of surprised that none of the Bengals' last 3 games got "flexed" to a Sunday or Monday night game. IMO, yesterday's Bengals/Chargers game would be a "more compelling" match-up for MNF than Giants/Redskins tonight.

TvPat

CBS protected the Bengals-Chargers game. Plus, you can only move a Sunday afternoon game to Sunday night. Monday night games are set at the beginning of the season.

Kivo, I can't post anything about watching online. Message me if you would like a link.

I actually use DirecTV Supercast, so my streaming is perfectly legal, just ridiculously expensive. :D

Supercast is $99 for the season and is only available to Sunday Ticket subscribers. You just need a Sunday Ticket subscriber that is willing to give you his/her DirecTV user name and password.

Looks like Browns fans get to watch the final game of the year, as the Bengals/Jets game was flexed to the Sunday night game. :D

On Sunday at 1 p.m., CBS Sports presents the Jacksonville vs. Cleveland NFL game.

It will be followed by the Baltimore vs. Oakland game at 4:15 p.m.

The game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins will not be seen. Cincinnati will appear on another network.
