Hey all,

I received a Sirius Starmate 4 with a car kit for Christmas. I want to be able to use it in the house, so I'll need to get a home dock for it.

In digging around for info on the home dock, I found out that Directed Electronics makes a Sirius/DBS splitter/combiner kit. From what I can tell, you install the Sirius outdoor antenna near your DirecTV dish, connect one of the splitters to the cable coming into your house, then break it out on the other end with the other splitter.

I just happen to have an empty mounting pole right next to my 5LNB DirecTV dish that I used to use for WildBlue. There's a 150' long pair of unused RG6 cables that terminate in my basement. I'm thinking I could mount the Sirius antenna on the old Wildblue pole, use the splitter to convert the oddball Sirius SMB connection to the F-type connector on the RG6, then convert it back to SMB up at the stereo in the house.

Is anyone else doing something like this? Does it work?
