Who got new high tech stuff for the holiday??

Not too much at our house this year. Did get a Apricorn DVR Xpander - 1TB, eSATA. Seems strange to see my hard disk space at only 5%. Sure it woun't be that low for long.

I also picked up a low cost HP Copier Printer Scanner for my wife so she can share her sewing and knitting patterns with her sisters and our daughter.

Santa thought about a blu ray but he just wasn't ready to pull that trigger yet.

Hope everyone has a great holiday season.:hdlove:

Go Bucks!!

May not be high Tech but I got a Harley.:D How that for an HD system?

2003 - 100th Anniversary HD Wide-Glide (http://www.cowtownphoto.com/gallery/6816962_Dqika/1/435687326_NPVrU/Medium)

Of course, I'm the one that has to pay for it for the next few years.

I got a Sirius satellite radio car kit. I'm planning on getting a home dock so I can listen to it in the house. This part of the post might do better in the DirecTV thread, but does anyone here have any experience with the splitters that let you mount a satellite radio antenna on your DirecTV dish, combine the signal from it into the cable back to the house, then split it back out at the home dock?

I'll cross-post this on the DirecTV thread if nobody replies....

I got a PS3 (well, a bit early) couple of games for it--and Batman Begins and The Dark Night on BRD.

Got a new TV, PS3, and got the wife the Kodak zi6 handheld HD video recorder. All in all Santa was good to us this year.

The Dark Night pretty impressive in BRD.

Are you done with Verizon then?

Yeah. I really wanted either an iPhone or Android based phone and it didn't look like either was coming to Verizon anytime soon. Some more Android phones should be coming to other carriers by summer, but I didn't feel like waiting any more.

A couple of other friends have the iPhone and I really like it. The biggest thing holding me back is that all of my family and most of my friends have Verizon.

That's what held me back as long as I did. I was also hoping Verizon would at least announce an Android phone, and I would be willing to wait for it to be released. It looked like over the Summer they would be getting one, but now it's looking like they are going to do their own proprietary one (based on another open source platform I'm not familiar with) and nobody knows when anything with that will happen.

There are a few "computer" type features that the phone could really use (hello copy and paste), but they really did a great job making an operating system and hardware that operates well as a smartPHONE. Too often, with ones like Palm and Windows Mobile, manufacturers try too hard to replicate the PC experience especially with the interface.
