DVR??

I have a HD tv and get Dish, but cannot get the local channels through DISH (large trees). I can get locals (4,6,10,28,34,53) in HD and would like to be able to DVR them. Is there a box (affordable?) that I can use to record my locals and watch them later that would be seperate of my Dish box? Currently my antenna is not hooked up through my DISH BOX because I loose some reception.

You could use a stand-alone TIVO box (http://www.tivo.com/). Assuming you want it in HD, you have a couple of options, the least expensive being the TiVo HD (https://www3.tivo.com/store/boxdetails.do?boxName=180hourtivohd&boxsku=R65216). It can also act as a cable box if you decide to go to cable at some time in the future.
