So, how did everyone come out from the storm? I lost some shingles on the roof. Thats all. I was very lucky. Didn't lose power or D*. My dish is still in position. Just wondering about everyone else.

Just lose cable or service and not power or both.

Hope everyone made it thru ok.

I have DIshNetwork. We lost power in Westerville for a few Hours on Sunday, but everything was back up and running in time to watch the Stupid Browns Game Sunday Night. We have an OTA antenna so that we can receive locals in HD. The Interesting thing is that the signal strength seems to be much improved since the "hurricane" came through. Maybe all the trees knocked down is helping?

We lost only power. It wasn't a huge deal, though. I went to Cleveland to watch the stupid Browns game.

Got power back about 10 minutes after we got home on Monday. :D

I am on the south side of Hilliard in Norwich township. Lost power and TWC Sunday at 4:30PM. Had a co-worker with a spare generator to get by till power came back. Hooked up Fridge, TV and handfull of lights on my house and the Neigbors next door to the generator and enjoyed OTA programming. Power came back on Monday night at 11:30PM. Still do not have TWC and am still enjoying OTA programming. Neigbors accross the street still have no power. Generator is across the street running two houses "necessities".

Cheers!

PS:
lost a ton of branches and a handfull of shingles. Tacked the shingles back into place. No need to file any claims. Shredded all the yard waste and now have enough mulch to do freshen up all the mulch in the yard. Now know OTA antenna can handle hurricane force winds!

The power came back on Wednesday for me. There are still houses in the area that are dark.

I got home at 1:00am Monday morning from a weekend trip to find no power and a tree laying on my roof. Luckily the tree didn't do much damage; mainly bent gutters and sore backs the next day. I have good friends that helped me cut the tree off the roof Monday, then I got power back late Monday afternoon.

It could have been much worse, and on a plus side I now have a stockpile of firewood.

We came out of it pretty much unscathed. Kept our DirectTV and power, just lost a piece of siding.

After being delayed in Atlanta - for obvious reasons - from our journey home from LA, we didn't have power until Monday night. Had to re-plumb the mast for the Directv Dish. We were very fortunate.

Very lucky at our house near Tinapple in Hilliard. Lost a lot of shingles but never lost any utilities.:D

Our power here west of Lancaster was off from 4:30 PM Sunday to 11:00 PM Sunday. We were one of the lucky ones -- power at my daughter's apartment in Lancaster just came back on yesterday. Had to listen to the GREAT Steelers game on the radio (103.9 FM) Sunday ;^).

Lots of branches down, three pretty good sized (~ 12"), no damage to DirecTV dish, OTA antenna, or house.

Kind of makes me want to go to the Outer Banks and ride out a category 1 hurricane some day.

I lost power and cable Sunday around 3pm and got it back last night around 7pm. It was a long boring 4 days in Upper Arlington.

My work didn't lose power, but we just got Road Runner back yesterday around 1pm.

I didn't have electricity until 8:30 PM Monday 9/15. AEP website advised Friday 9/19. I shouldn't complain but I did travel over an hour each way in horrible traffic to my sister's place to borrow a generator only to hook it up and have my electricity come on an hour later.

For the Browns game on Sunday night I hooked up a 175W inverter to my car battery and watched the game on a spare 19inch color tv with rabbit ears.

No damage to my house or to my Dish Network equipment. I was lucky there.

Only a brownout here and there--which I think blew one of my battery backups (replaced today)--and we lost one of our largest trees on our wooded lot. We lost one in the ice storm of '04, and that one landed inches from my deck, this one crashed the opposite way and is crossing a creek now.

No power outage for me in Reynoldsburg/Far East Side but some streets in my subdivision were off. Lucked out because storms usually get me due to the fact that our subdivision is heavily wooded. WOW was down for about 24 hours, however, so I had to switch to OTA and got through everything just fine.

I've been following the coverage and am surprised at how irate people have been getting. This was a huge storm; they're saying it was the 4th worst in the nation's history. In Cincinnati, people got so irate that some people stormed the Duke Energy offices. Line workers were also being guarded by sheriff's deputies at one point.

I spent three nights sleeping in the basement during the ice storm so I figure if I could make it through that, this wouldn't have been such a big deal.

Lost our power at 4PM Sunday, got it back at 8PM Thurday night. 100 hours without power. Cable has been a different story. Once power came back on TW cable was still out. Reported it. They said it should be back on sometime Saturday. It came back on Friday afternoon for a short time, and has been in and out since. It is currently on, hence my ability to log on to to forum, but who knows for how long.

Luckier than most, I suppose. Only one medium sized tree branch in the driveway. Power out until 6AM Wednesday. Amazing how dark your house gets with no electronic clocks or standby lights from A/V gear on....

A few years ago a friend -- against an official evacuate decree -- rode out Floyd in his house on Duck. Scared him shitless. He will never do that again.
