Just got the TurboHD package with Dish Network and the ViP612 receiver. I hooked up my indoor HDTV antenna to it to get local HD channels. All of them work well with a signal between 77(WOSU) and 98(WBNS). My trouble is with Channel 4, WCMH, it will show a signal of 80 briefly and then fall quickly and the channel will not lock in. Occasionly, it will lock in around 75-78, but then loose the lock. I know the antenna works as when hooked to my PC, channel 4 will lock in with no problems.

Could it be a problem with the receiver, is anyone else having this situation with WCMH? Does WCMH transmit at a lower power than the other stations?

Aslo, why do you have to subscribe to the local channels through Dish Network in order for the guide to work? Shouldn't it be easy enough to map the OTA channels to their channels? Just a negative I guess.

Thanks for the forum, lots of good information here!

I have the ViP722 box from Dish and have had similar troubles getting a reliable signal. The most recent tweak of my antenna seems to have done the job as I don't appear to have lost the signal at all since then. During that time though my HDHomeRun appeared to work well. Maybe their is some kind of multipath issue with WCMH. I think I'm now around 80 with good results. Before I had 74 or so and it would continually loose the signal.

WMCH is the weakest signal that I get, other than the Chillicothe station of course. WCMH has a strength of 81-82 while WBNS is 100, WTTE is 100 and WSYX is over 90. I don't lose the signal, it's just weaker than the others.
