I was watching the station at about 9:30pm last night when it completely lost the singal and haven't been able to get it back since. When I mean lost, I mean 0%! I can watch every other HD station in Columbus and I can even get a singal for WWHO-DT, though it is unwatchable, and I can get analog 34 with a slight bit of static, but 0% for WOSU-DT. Anyone know what's going on?

Well, it's up now. Still odd that I only had problems with just that one channel for over a day.

Yes, it's working now. I didn't see your message last night cause I would have checked it.

I actually don't watch WOSU-DT very often, so I don't know if I lost the signal last night. :D

I've had the same problem with WOSU-HD the past day or two, but I can't pick up any of their digital stations at all right now. I did a scan for channels on my antenna and the tuner doesn't even find 34.1-3 anymore.

Is this still an issue for anyone else?

Found this at the OSU web site dated - 07/09/2008 2:12:38 PM:
=======================================
An update from our chief engineer:

There was a problem Sunday afternoon at 2:48pm at the transmitter site. The digital transmitter was off for a few minutes.

We had a bigger problem Monday night. We were off the air between Monday night and this morning because of a transmission line problem. We are operating at approximately 10% power effective at 10:15am today. We cannot get a crew here until next Monday to help with finding the problem.

Any chance you can post the URL for the status of WOSU? I can't seem to find it on either http://www.osu.edu or http://www.wosu.org

Figure this would happen this weekend. I am trying to put up an antenna so I can get rid of cable. Oh well, slight delay then.

There is some info at:
http://action.publicbroadcasting.net/wosu/posts/list/993419.page

(I couldn't find anything on the WOSU site, although if you start at www.wosu.org and click "Television" at the top, then click "Dtv" at the left, then scroll to the bottom and click on the "Ask questions about DTV here" link, then click "DTV and the analog shutoff" at the top, then click "Digital to Analog Converter Issues," you end up at that page.)

The info I found was in the discussions groups under Digital to Analog.
Here's a link:

It's toward the bottom.

It's down again. :( I hope they get their transmitter issues fixed soon. At least their analog station is coming in fairly clear right now.

I can get WOUS-DT again. It rarely gives me any trouble when there's nothing I want to watch.

Every program I've set to record on WOSUHD for the past week has been nothing bit pixelated garbage and searching for signal. I have a DB-8 in the attic that has always pulled it in before. Have they cut back the power from the transmitter to save $$ due to the 4 month extension of analog or ??

My boys and I were trying to watch this morning and I couldn't get the digital channels in at all, and I usually don't have much trouble. I got the analog channel pretty clear, so it stumped me.

According to the Dispatch this morning, WOSU will broadcast only an analog signal during the transition delay. WCMH & WBNS will braodcast both analog & digital and the Sinclair stations apparently don't know.

I've got a signal now, only 38% but they're obviously still transmitting in digital. Dunno what the heck they told the Dispatch.

The Columbus Disgraceis fishwrap and I won't be posting any more blurbs from that rag.

This delay caused some problems for WOSU's engineers who were ready to load the analog xmitter into the Rumpke Recycling truck. Site work is scheduled well in advance and this delay will cost a lot of money. Or maybe not if they apply for some of that bailout money.

Thanks to Comrade Obama's delay of the analog shut down now we'll have to deal with a 24/7/365 Pledge Drive to pay the extra cost of running BOTH signals for 4 more months.

Today's paper again says (http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/life/stories/2009/02/14/2_BROBITS14.ART_ART_02-14-09_D5_CPCTLBM.html?sid=101): "The PBS station, WOSU-TV (Channel 34), will transmit only in analog until the June switch to digital."

I wonder if they'll try to track down the pirate broadcaster claiming to be WOSU-HD.
