I just checked the release calendar for March/April and there are a ton of quality titles coming up. Over the next few weeks the following titles will be on shelves, in rough chronological order.
- Ghost Recon: Advance Warrior
- Burnout Revenge (360 port of Criterions excellent game for the Xbox/PS2)
- NCAA 2K6 (another port)
- The Outfit
- Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (this game is simply amazing, 100+ hours of RPG goodness). Impressions of the game here (http://www.gamingnexus.com/Default.aspx?Section=Article&I=1008)
- Battlefield 2:Modern Combat (another EA port but the game looks pretty impressive)- EA actually pushed the release of this game back to April due to all the compeition for space in the next few weeks
Anything else I'm missing? Which games are you interested in seeing most?

I'm looking forward to actually finding a 360 to buy...then I'll worry about the games. I finally talked the woman into letting me get one...and they are STILL NOT ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND.
It's starting to make me want to forget the 360 all together, to be honest. Two weeks I've been looking...

Where have you been looking? Supply issues should now be over. I'd check Target and Walmart as they seem to be getting a semi-regular re-supply of consoles. Best Buy and Circuit City might also be good places to look. All of the dedicated game places are probably going to be sold out until the end of March or so.

Best Buy - I've called Easton, Tuttle, and 256 all three times each this week, and all are out of stock (each time), although the associate at Tuttle was nice enough to tell me that the 360's are still arriving UPS, on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday...and that they last about 2 hours on the shelf.
Circuit City - Easton, Polaris, and Sawmill are all out of stock, and have been for a while, according to the salesman I talked to at Polaris.
WalMart - Out of stock, and nobody has a clue when they'll get them.
Target - Out of stock, and nobody has a clue when they'll get them.
EBGames - Still filling pre-orders!!!!
KB Toys - Out of stock, no clue.
Ect, ect, ect.
If the shortage is supposed to be over, I'd like to know what rock 360 premiums are hiding under.
(BTW, I've found 4 CORE systems in my travels, which does me about as much good as an Atari2600...I need the PREMIUM package.)
EBAY PRICE - $425 (+ shipping) to $1500 (+ shipping)
Like I said...it's getting old.

Try this guy's little Xbox finder. It checks the local Best Buys and Circuit City stores and will email/text you when they get the system in stock. I installed it last Sunday and got one Monday from the Tuttle BB.

I'm definately going to get Burnout and Elder Scrolls. I'm not sure about Ghost Recon yet. If they post up a demo on Live and I like it then I'll buy it. Back when the 360 came out there was talk about Gears of War coming out in March. If that would have been true this month would have probably been the best month for the 360 this year. Since that got pushed back then I still think it's a good month for 360. Gears of War looks to be the "killer app".

Congrats Smak!
Ditto!! How did you end up finding one? What games you get so far? I see Oblivion on your ID there (I have it too).
You guys need to get Ghost Recon so we can battle it out HDColumbus style!! I'll add you to my friends list Smak.

Have you guys tried GameFly yet? I recently signed up for a trial and thus far it has been really fast. I think this may be due to the limited number of 360's out there. I really like the "keep it" feature which allows you purchase the game and well, keep it for $30-$39. It's pre-played yes, but it's still cheaper then most of the pre-plays I've seen on eBay or craptacular EB Games. They even send you the box and manuals with no shipping charge.

I've thought about trying them but was worried that since they ship from California it would take forever in between games.

Mine actually come from Cleveland (I think), they opened distro centers over the past few months to service areas of the US. Give it try, It's free for 14 days, at the very least, you can play a couple of games for two weeks :D

That sounds like a nice feature. I ended up buying Burnout, Ghost Recon and Oblivion this month. I haven't even tried Oblivion yet, I'm trying to focus on Ghost Recon at the moment.

Good call, because once you put any time into Oblivion...it's over.
At least in my case anyway.
Any of you guys looking forward to MLB2K in April?

Yeah, I started Oblivioin but only did the first part looking for the King's brother. I went back to Ghost Recon for now, so that when I go back to Oblivion I can really invest some time into it.
While there may not be any "killer apps" so far, I'm pretty happy with the games available for the 360. Most of them are pretty solid and lots of fun. I really like the achievements. They give me something to try for, kind of like the old games with "high scores".

We should try to do some kind of ghost recon party. I used to have halo2 parties at my house in the past but attendence had kinda dropped off over the past year. I'd be interested in trying some of those 16 player co-op sessions with GRAW. I've got one friend that has GRAW (even though he hasn't played it yet).

I agree, the achievments are really cool...it's fun seeing what you've done, and how your gamerscore compares to others, ect.
For example, it appears now that I have a few of you guys from the website on my buddy list, that I have the hdcolumbus.net high score in Geometry Wars:) (look it up).
Stuff like that is cool, I really like the sense of "community" on this console...
Can't wait to have some hdcolumbus.org gaming parties over XBox Live!
(I may have to get Ghost Recon, that appears to be the website favorite right now.)

That's cool. We should make a thread for high scores on the arcade games. I noticed Zelig plays alot of them so he can add some scores too I'm sure. Now, I'm going to have to look up your score and see if I can beat it! ;)

For the longest time the Arcade games were the only ones I really enjoyed. I joked with people that I only bought the 360 so I could play Gauntlet with my friends online. PDZ was fun but I didn't replay it a whole lot. Ghost Recon though is great and I'm really enjoying it. If I wasn't trying to watch the entire first season of 24 I'd be playing more GRAW.

I went ahead and signed up for it. I'll try it out and see how it works. I've liked the online Blockbuster, so I'm sure I'll like this too.

April is going to be a little slow compared to March
MLB2K6
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Tomb Raider: Legend
Final Fantasy XI Online
The BF2:MC demo that's available on XBL right now is pretty solid. Looks very good and the gameplay isn't bad. I still prefer the PC version though.
Tomb Raider:Legend has some decent buzz right now from people who've had a chance to play teh game early.
Not really sold on the other two as I'm not a fan of baseball or the (not so) Final Fantasy series

Normally I'd get the Final Fantasy game but I'm not into the whole MMO world so I'll pass on that one. I'm jazzed about the new Hitman coming to the 360. They said this spring so maybe we'll see an April release (but probably not).

Oh, if anyone is still looking for a 360 a buddy of mine said they had six at the Dublin Walmart (3 premium, 3 core)

The only MMO I've been able to get into is World of Warcraft. I played that game non-stop when it came out. I used to like Final Fantasy games, I finished FF7 and played quite a bit of 8, but haven't been able to get into them since then. Plus, I got a demo of the new one in a magazine and spent so much time installing and trying to setup my online account and never actually played the game because I was tired of messing with it. Maybe the final version won't be as bad, but its turned me off already.
Besides, with Oblivion, I've got as much RPG as I can take for a while. I like the game more and more as I play it.

I really liked final fantasy tactics on the GBA. And now I've moved on to playing FF1&2 on the GBA. I only played FFX for a while. Oblivion is definately my next RPG for a while. Once I get some more GRAW time in I should be able to finally play Oblivion. If FFXIII truely is a launch title for the PS3 that might just make me want to get one more so than I already do for the BluRay.
As for MMOs I played Everquest for a week before getting very bored with the whole idea. WoW does sound like it would be lots of fun but I can't really afford to toss that much time out the window. Plus the 360 is giving me all the gaming goodness I want right now.

I got into City of Heroes for a while but lost interest after a few months. I've been in the beta for Auto Assault (out next week) for a while and it's not bad. Hard to go wrong with cars with guns though :D
