Alright, I'm pretty new to all this HD stuff and devices, so I have a question...
I really want a HD TiVo. Right now I use my Media Center on my computer to record stuff, but I'm becoming more and more addicted to HD so I want to get something to record in HD through my TV.
I was looking at the Series 3 ones that have dual tuners. My main question is...would I need to have two HD cable boxes from Time Warner for this? Or can TiVo convert the signal by itself? Right now it is my understanding that if I have a Tivo, I hook up my HD cable box to it, and the tivo controls the box (that's atleast how our older one in the other room works...). If I want to use the dual tuner thing, I'd then need 2 HD boxes from TW right? I can't split the signal from one box because that would only allow the same thing to be shown at any one time. I guess I just need some help figuring this out.
Another thing...just quickly looking through some things about Tivo and stuff, I've noticed something mentioned about some cable card or something? Is this an issue with the newer Series 3 Tivos? I guess I have no idea what these card things are so if someone could help me out with that that'd be great too.
I just want to make sure I'm informed before I buy something thats so expensive. If these questions have already been answered or if there is useful information somewhere links would also help. But if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
