When I woke up this morning, I noticed that my pioneer (non HD) box had received the new software during the night.

So I ran downstairs to see if my HD Box (One of the Sci. models) had received it as well. It hadn't. While flipping thru channels, I also noticed that STOHD is now showing that I have to be subscribed? I presume this is temporary since the channel was supposed to go "live" today.

The new software (Navigator) is being phased in for all existing boxes. Your HD box should also receive it soon.

All I get is a blank screen for STOHD even though the program guide shows scheduled programs.

I'm having the same peoblem with just a gray screen and nothing showing. I'm using the Scientific Atlanta HD box, but with our Pioneer HD box in the other room it's working fine...so I hope they get this fixed soon

Also, when I called them earlier today, they told me the new Navigator thing was only for the Pioneer boxes...just fyi.

Navigator is already on SA8300HDC boxes (I've had it for months) and rollout on other SA boxes has already begun in other TW regions. They have generally phased it in, tackling one STB type at a time.

There is a very active thread on the AVSForum about TW Navigator. Note: It is a very long thread, but if you read the last 10 or 12 pages you can get the gist.

It's also possible I misunderstood what they said so personally I'd go with that possibility ;)

By the way...are there any updates on STOHD working for you? Have you tried calling? I called and they gave me the general 'unplug your box' deal that didn't work. Mine still doesn't work today, I just really hope they fix it soon, I don't know how much longer I can go without the Indians in HD...

I'm having the same problem with STO and NGeoHD. Sometimes they come in and sometimes not. I think it is a signal strength problem. During the day, 10am to 4pm, they seem to work but during prime time the signal is bad. I have two units both 8300HDs, one is worse than the other. Sometimes the picture is there but broken, other times I get a grey screen.

Had a tech come out last week and he totally blew me off. Said I needed the new software and just left without even testing the signal.

I talked to a csr last night. She told me that I would be geting the new software tonight but that it probabaly wouldn't help those two channels. She set me up for another tech to come on Sunday. Didn't know they would come on Sunday. Are they having that many problems with the rollout that they need to work on Sunday?? Who knows, they run their business like a secret society.

mines still not working so I gave them another call, and she seemed to think it was related to the update, which my box hasn't recieved. She then attempted to reboot my box through their end, which never actually happened, which made us think maybe my box is having trouble recieving signals straight from TW. Of course the next available time for someone to come out is late next week.

I have a hard time believing it's something to do with my box since the other recently added channels like A&E HD and HGTV HD work just fine, but the failed reboot attempt changed my thoughts a little bit.

I'm also having trouble with NatGeoHD, but I'm more concerned with Indians baseball...:D

The tech guy came out and fixed it for me. Turns out the splitter I was using to split the signal between my cable box and my PC was from the stone age. It wasn't letting some signals through apparently, but it's fixed now so I can finally watch the Tribe in HD :hdlove:

Hmm...I guess I'll have to call. I've been waiting for the update before I do, but who knows how long that's going to take.

I know there's a splitter that was installed in 2003 in the garage. Maybe that's the problem. The only other splitter is upstairs where I have the cable modem.

The motorola page that someone mentioned says my signal strength is at -8.

Turns out that the splitter wasn't the problem. I was thinking of calling tomorrow, but I decided to try something else first. I unhooked the box and took it upstairs and hooked it up there. Granted, the TV is not HD, but I wanted to see if the connection would work. It did! So I went back downstairs and grabbed the cable that is there. Hooking it up upstairs, I saw the picture work, but it wasn't a clear signal. One nice little giggle and boom, the picture came on.

Hooray! I don't have to call and sit around and wait on someone to show up.
