Forget Blu-Ray and HD DVD, Apple has "Apple TV Take 2" Rent HD movies right on the TV. $4.99! per HD movie! No computer needed. Just need a Wireless Broadband. This is sweet, I am buying one soon. $229 for the 40GB version, $329 for the 160GB version. It will also play songs and pictures on Home Receivers and HDTVs.

Watch the Keynote from MacWorld yesterday, new features for iPhone, iPod Touch and more. Apple has their stuff together, I will never buy another PC for a long time. Microsoft can kiss my money goodbye, they released Mac 2008 for Intel based macs. All major Applications run on Mac and PC now. There is a great demo of the Apple TV Take 2 in the Keynote below Steve goes through everything.

I've had an AppleTV since they were released and use it nearly every day. I enjoy it a lot but I'm looking forward to any improvements they can make. I've had mine hacked so I probably won't upgrade right away. I've become dependent on being able to watch MKV files as that's my container of choice for DVD ripping. HD films on the AppleTV will only be 720p (fine by me) but the kicker is that the bandwidth of the films can't exceed 5Mb/s unless "take 2" includes a newly optimized software. I wonder if they're going to run Leopard on it or stick with Tiger.
