Ok I got my Sammy Sir-T451 yesterday. I have insight cable and and bunch of different antennas. to try out. I messed around with the box a little and did some channle scans. When hooked up to just the antenna I get about six OTA channels, when I hook the box up to the cable and do a scan I see alot of channels accepted, but when I try to view them the HDTV light will come on but I didn't see any broadcast. Also when setting up the box to memorize the channels it gives me the choices of Air (I know thats for an antenna) and then there is the Cable selections STD, HRC or IRC whats the difference?

You didn't mention which cable service you have. With Time Warner, a scan will see a lot of channels, but most won't be viewable because they are part of their digital package and require either a set-top box or a cable card. Try this thread http://www.hdcolumbus.net/vb-hdtv/showthread.php?t=56

Thanks for the info DublinDoodah, I had a chance to sit down and play with my Sir-T451 last night. I did a channel scan on all of the cable selections (STD, HRC or IRC). This is with the cable connected straight to the Sir-T451.
On the STD scan It locked in 6 channels:
86-1(10tv)
86-2(NBC 4)
86-3(NBC 4 weather)
124-1(WOSU HD)
124-2(WOSU Ohio)
124-3(WOSU plus)
On the HRC scan it didn't lock on any channels.
On the IRC scan it locked in 8 channels:
86-1(10tv)
86-2(NBC 4)
86-3(NBC 4 weather)
87-1(ABC 6)
87-2 Fox 28
124-1(WOSU HD)
124-2(WOSU Ohio)
124-3(WOSU plus)
Can anyone tell me what these stand for (STD, HRC and IRC)?
Thanks. . .

I'm not clear on what do you mean by provider, I may be over thinking(or not) but thats the name of the company Insight Communications (Cable)

I think CableGuy was pointing out to Dublin that you had provided your cable provider in the original post.
