Stumbled across this report (http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthread.php?t=23134) on High-Def Digest about Time Warner quietly turning on A&E, History, Food channel and HGTV over in Dayton.

Meanwhile, TW Central Ohio stays mum.

I was at my brothers in Jamestown a couple weeks ago and noticed they had twice the number of HD channels we have in Columbus. He is on the Dayton TW system.

why do we need switched?

there's at least 40 channels of crap on analog that could go away and it wouldn't bother me at all.

:D

Switched is inevitable.

What I want to know from TW Columbus is when are we going to get more HD?

I don't care if it requires SDV. I'm on a Navigator box and I'm still seeing SDV as not initialized. Satellite is pummeling TW on number of HD channels and it has been making me consider a switch.

I know TW employees read this forum. Can we get an update to make the waiting easier?

I too am getting sick and tired of TW Columbus and their EXTREMELY slow addition of more HD channels. Especially since quite a lot of the other TW areas have significantly more to offer in HD than Columbus does, along with other providers having more to offer. TW called me the other day to ask once again if I would consider adding digital telephone to my cable and Roadrunner services. I told them heck no, I would not even consider it at this time as I was thinking about dropping TW altogether after being a loyal customer for over 30 years. He seemed flabbergasted and asked why? I told him because other TW offices (ie: Dayton and others) had more to offer and the Columbus office is so slow to offer more. He said like what? I mentioned a few channels that others in Dayton, Raleigh, Tampa, etc get that we don't. He said he heard from another rep that we may be getting Food Network soon in HD. I asked are there any others. He said he didn't know of any.
Maybe it's time to start a massive email campaign to Rhonda Fraas here in Columbus expressing our displeasure with the Columbus division regarding this.
I mean c'mon. Columbus was one of the first to get Qube (anyone else remember that?), and over the years other stuff came to Columbus sooner than a lot of other markets. But it seems in the past few years, Columbus division seems to be one of the last to get stuff. Could this be a Rhonda decision? I suspect the penny pinchers at this division like to hold onto every cent as long as they can and not invest in making the central Ohio viewers happy.

Yea.. I just love all the movies and sports on the food channel..
I think I am going to start looking at Dish again, as much as I hate going back to satellite. Reminds me of having to watch all those shows in black and white after buying a color TV many years ago.

And that would make room for at least 80 HD channels.

I asked a sales rep yesterday when we would be getting new HD channels. While I expected a vague answer he threw out "next year maybe into 2009". He was unresponsive to questions about when SDV is going to be rolled out.

2009. If we get to April and there aren't multiple new useful channels, I'm dropping TW. Food Network is not a channel I watch in SD, so I am unimpressed by its priority if it truly has a higher priority.

I know bandwidth is an issue, but what's the hold up on SDV? We could be watching more channels now. Not in over a year.
