I saw on another thread that others had an issues with Heroes over the past two Monday's pixelating and then going SD in the last ten minutes. I have also noticed a couple other issues with WCMH-HD -- a lot of problems with audio sync have been occuring -- happening to anyone else here?

Also, last night, Bionic Woman and Life were broadcast in SD. Anyone know why?

Same audio sync problems here. Also the volume changes between HD and SD feeds.

Use the Usenet instead of bittorrent. Direct download. About a 10 minute download for an hour show.
Get a copy of GrabiT (free) Set it up to access the newsgroups your ISP connects to and join NewzBin http://www.newzbin.com/ to download the NZB files. If you are using Roadrunner, the Usenet retention time is about 2 months now. If you have a crappy ISP, you can get an account at Astraweb http://news.astraweb.com/ for a cheap price.
A lot faster then bittorrent and your not opening up your ports for others to access.

That's a good idea. I've played in the Usenet world a while ago and haven't done anything for ages. There's a fairly good program on OSX called Unison. Do they have basically the same files as those that float around in Bittorrent? I don't want to download SD stuff anymore, I'll usually wait the extra day or two for someone to post a 720p version.

Last night (Fri., 10/26), Las Vegas kept bouncing back and forth between 1080 and 720. In the other thread about Heroes, someone posted an email from WCMH -- maybe they could be contacted again and see if they are going to get this fixed....

I have been using Giganews. the downloading speed at "news-server.columbus.rr.com" slowed to a crawl and is practically unusable.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, which of course is always possible. I was using the default port 119.

They did slow down again for a little while but I'm hitting speeds between 750-900 most of the time now on downloads since they jumped the speed up. I know that users have to power cycle their cable modems for a couple of minutes before the new speed takes effect. You might try that.

I recently signed up with www.usenetserver.com (www.usenetserver.com?refer=224120) for access to Usenet as AT&T didn't have any of the groups I wanted (and of course low retention). They offer a 3-day trial for $3 which is a great way to get your feet wet. The speeds were fast and they even have their own indexer of Usenet so you don't have to sign up for an account on newzbin (not that they're accepting new accounts). I'll likely be doing the monthly access to usenetserver. I think they have the best price for what they offer. High retention (100+ days), high completion (>99%) and most importantly free SSL connection. That way all your data is encrypted.

Man, usenet has gotten so much easier in the past 10 years.

I have been having this problem on NBC for several weeks. It always pixalates and bounces back and fourth between HD and SD. I have had this problem on Chuck, Heroes, and Monday Night Football.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue with the NBC picture looking blurry and soft? I'm seeing a ton of ghosting and blurring during every program that I watch now. I don't recall this being a problem in the past with NBC, but it is very annoying.

How long has this been the case for you? I have a few captures of NBC shows from the past few weeks that I could check.

The WCMH picture has been fine for me. I watch The Office via the dvr every week. Every now and then, the audio will be a split second out of snyc with the video but nothing major. Not like WSYX last night.
