I posted this in the Cable forum but since it applies to Tivo Series 3 and Tivo HD units...
The moment that those with Tivo's that use CableCards dreaded is here. Looks like Time Warner recently added TBS-HD on channel 759. The bad news is that it is a "Switched Digital Video" (SDV) channel which means that anyone using Cable Cards (including Tivo Series 3 and TivoHD users) won't be able to get that channel. SDV requires two-way communications. :(
For the time being anyway it isn't a big deal since TBS-HD is pretty lame. Like TNT-HD they are a quasi-HD channel that shows some things in true HD but others are this weird upconverted stretched nonsense.
I suspect however that this signals the end to new HD channels for Tivo users until that USB workaround happens. Here is info on the "Tuning Resolved" workaround...
