I'm an import to central Ohio and am currently local president of my alumni club. We hold 1-3 football watch parties each season at a family-friendly sports bar that's reasonably accessible. In previous years we've been to:

• Fitzgerald's: *great* private room, truly ancient big screen TV last time we were there
• BW-3: noisy place, washed-out projection TVs (I wonder about the new one on High St?)
• Rush Creek: super nice folks, really poor TV quality from huge antique projectors and the screens are too high on the wall.

It's time to make plans for this season and as someone who's become used to HDTV, I wonder if anyone here has a recommendations? Plenty of places have the small flat screen HDTVs (rarely with an HD signal-go figure!), but I need a place that has a big screen that 30-40 folks can view together, ideally in a semi-private area. And wouldn't it be nice for it to be a big HDTV?

Fortunately, our first big game won't conflict with the Buckeye game this year which makes us more welcome.

I just found this forum and wonder if anyone has a tip for a place we should consider? I'm assuming you've become as picky as me on your picture quality... ;)

Eddie George Grill at the Gateway is good for HD and should be even better when D* adds HD channels next month. No semi-private room (that I know of) but the bar area is pretty big.

I'd check out the giant new BW3 on High St.

Gresso's on high (down from the Bw3) has the Big 10 network and a ton of TV's. Plus they are dog friendly every day of the week if you gotta pooch to bring. Dogs stay on the patio though, but it's nice. I took my dog down there and listened to the game on Saturday. This week they are planning on moving a 27 inch into the window on the patio so dog owners can watch as well.
