Okay, hopefully it hasn't been terribly annoying to you all with the construction of the homepage. With things constantly moving about, some of you may have started bypassing the homepage altogether. We think we finally the have page setup the way we would like. Unlike the homepage on phpBB--which was a static page that I rarely changed--the new homepage is filled with dynamic, useful information.

On the left-hand side, once logged in, you are now able to see how many posts have been made since your last visit, private messages, online user status, the most current polls, and a customized weather module (just enter your zip into the provided profile field).

The center of the page contains quicklinks to the forum and links of HDTV interest. It also has the most recent threads pulled from the "HD Columbus News & Information", "Everything HD", and currently the "WCMH-DT" forums. A new module, just introduced yesterday, contains HDTV RSS feeds. This module will update daily with the most current HDTV and digital TV news. If you have a feed you'd like to see added, pm me and we'll check it out.

The right-side contains the most recent threads posted in--just click the document icon to go directly to the last post, the calendar--which displays any upcoming events or birthdays, member stats, and a news archive which displays the last four threads recently in the News module.

Many have asked if there is a way to customize the page with the modules you want. Currently, there isn't a way to do this; however, we are always on the lookout for new technology. In the mean-time, you can simply "minimize" the modules you don't want to display, and a cookie will be placed to "remember" your homepage settings.

So, checkout the homepage (www.hdcolumbus.net) if you haven't already--it's filled with a lot of useful info.

On the old forum I almost never went to the homepage. Now with the new format that's the first place I go. It's a lot easier to see what new messages and posts are happening. Great job!
