There was an article in the Dispatch (http://www.dispatch.com/features-story.php?story=dispatch/2007/03/15/20070315-E4-02.html) today about WCSN picking Ray Crawford as their anchor for the "Columbus Sports Network". They will be carrying The Crew, Destroyers, local high school and college games, and also "sports news". They are scheduled to begin production on March 24.
WCSN has its antenna on WOSU's tower - AFAIK, on Olentangy River Rd. at Ackerman/Doddridge. The FCC website (http://www.fccinfo.com/CMDProEngine.php?sCurrentService=TV&tabSearchType=Appl&sAppIDNumber=1104697) shows it as being a low power analog station. The propagation map looks like they push more power to the north than the south. Down here, west of Lancaster, I get a fairly good analog signal on channel 32 (at least for an LP station, just a tad fuzzy). Currently, they just have a colorbar on that channel. From the Dispatch article:
The network’s home will be Channel 32.
CSN will be shown on channels 78 and 524 on the Insight cable system, Channel 97 on the WOW cable system, and Channel 78 on Time Warner Cable Mid-Ohio Division.Does anyone know if they will be providing a digital signal (at least, before February, 2009)?
Any chance they'll bump their power up?
If so, perhaps there should be a new sub-forum in the local Columbus Stations list for them.
