Hello,
I have a Mitsubishi 55819 RPTV with a user-accessible convergence tool. Basically, it displays a grid of white lines (resulting in about 64 boxes) that you navigate through with the remote. You select a line, select RED or BLUE, then use the arrow keys to move the red/blue line left, right, up, or down. The idea is to set the convergence in each region of the screen. GREEN is evidently fixed, and can't be adjusted. In some cases, mostly near the edge of the display, it's impossible to get the line to "go white".
The problem is most noticeable when viewing something white -- a hockey game, white backgrounds, etc. The left third of the display has a definite pink-ish tinge to it. I can also see a non-converged line when viewing a 4:3 program, at the edge of the gray bars to either side.
This particular Mitsubishi model is known for having a "red push", according to the reviews I've seen. One reviewer even got some kind of inline attenuating device to drop the red signal by a couple of db or so. I've tried adjusting the tint more towards green, and that helps a little, but not very much.
Am I dealing with a mechanical problem here, or, as suggested by scgalena in another thread, a magnetic problem?
Any ideas, suggestions, etc. would be welcome.
Thanks,
RLW
