Kudos to Fox for getting a clue and putting HD in-car cameras for the Dayton 500. The quality from in-car is not quite as good as the stationary or "floating" camera but it is still light years better than the fuzzy and vibration ridden analog pictures from last year. I might be tempted to watch a few races this year. One thing that has peeved me to no end is that SPEED has not been able to figure out that HD coverage is a must for auto racing coverage.

I used to enjoy watching the TransAm series on HDNET and was starting to get to know people. Just as I started looking for it to try and catch each race, they stopped showing it. It would be nice to have a SpeedHD channel with lots of different HD racing available.

I'd pay good money to watch some F1 racing in HD.

Oh, yeah... And the start of an F1 GP in 5.1 sound... :D :D :D :D :D

Twenty-two cars * 20k RPM.

I wonder if we any chance of this for the USGP this year. I'd never delete it from my Tivo, just re-play it over and over again. ;)

There is no way speakers can do it justice. I've been to every modern USGP at Indy and it is easily the loudest noise I have ever hear. Much louder than the Funny Car / Top Fuel passes I've experienced at the Spring Nationals or the Unlimited Modified Tractor pulls I went to as a kid. It is boarderline painful.

If you want to watch the race, stay at home. If you want to *experience* the race, ante up the bling and go. :)

Experiencing the race is the plan this year. :)
