Thanks Captain. Where can I find info on this channel? Is this the HD version of FSN-OH? Or is this the new Indians network? I am just wondering what's on this channel?

Just got my HD a few days ago. I plugged the W.O.W. cable in directly and get a number of stations and a lot of dead air over a signal.
However upon the main locals:
Channel 201 - CBSHD
Channel 203 - NBCHD
Channel 204 - UPN HD
Channel 205 - WOSUHD
Channel 206 - ABC HD
Channel 208 - FOX HD
I only get:
Channel 204 - UPN HD
Channel 206 - ABC HD
Channel 208 - FOX HD
WOSU-HD is on another lower channel, but not on 205. Anyone else seeing this? Is W.O.W. putting up moving targets until they firm things up or what?

I only get:
Channel 204 - UPN HD
Channel 206 - ABC HD
Channel 208 - FOX HD
You should be getting all 6 of the locals plus one or two unencrypted PPV preview channels.
Try a re-scan, or maybe you have a bad splitter or bad piece of coax.
Does anyone know if the SATA port works on the WOW 8300HD? I just switched and am shocked by how little storage internal storage has compared to TW.

Does anyone know if the SATA port works on the WOW 8300HD?
Did you ever find out the answer? If not, does anybody else know?
Thanks,
Rob

Yes it works. I have a buddy that has WOW and I have an external SATA drive. I took it over to his place to see if it would work. Works like a charm.

I also saw these new channels late last night. WOW also relabeled Ch 210 to HDTHR (Discovery HD Theater - same channel as before, just a new label). The new Ch 225 (DSCHD) is the actual HD simulcast of the Discovery Channel found on SD Ch 48.

Are these HD channels encrypted? Do I need their box or will they come through with a re-scan?
Captain_Rob

I assume they are all encrypted. I have WOW's 8300HDC DVR (does service mode show encryption/clear?). Cable companies are only required to provide locals unencrypted. Channel 228 (National Geographic HD) requires WOW's "HD PAK" package (which I have). The rest appear to be included with the basic Digital and HD packages.

Does Insight also send the local signals through with basic cable? I tried to program my brother's Olevia TV and they wouldn't pick up. Can I input these stations manually? Picking up OTA signals with rabbit ears was kind of a pain when I tried to program the channels for him over the holidays.

I am having WOW installed on Tuesday to replace E*. I don't like the idea because I love the 622 and the external hd but the wife can't stand the rain and wind fade on the local channels. Anyway, the CSR from WOW stated that ESPN2HD should come soon too replace ESPN in the HDPak. You will have to pay for it but at least it will available.

Hey Wow, how about some new HD channels? Maybe SciFi HD so I can watch the final season of Battlestar Galatica in HD.

For those interested, my HD HomeRuns pick up about 140 (50 music) channels on WOW basic cable. All the locals are HD.

The only QAM channels I'm getting are the local ones.
201/CBSHD
203/NBCHD
204/WHODT
206/ABCHD
208/FOXHD
Looks like WOW has the channels I watch the most in HD. So I'm getting ready to give them more money. Should be a big improvement over basic analog. I hope they add BBCA HD when it starts in July.
