i believe it is a toshiba dst-3000. I am at work right now so i am not positive, but pretty sure. It is a toshiba from directv.

I spoke with him, he has signed up for the board but can't post yet -

Is a directTV one going to work for just regular OTA HD broadcasts? It wouldn't happen to have an HDMI out on it would it? He was checking his inputs today and that is about all he has left...

yes it will work. it does not have an hdmi output.

sorry to disappear for so long, anywho, he is/was dead set on the hdmi out and wound up spending what he didn't want to spend on the new samsung.

i thought most of the directv stb's had DVI? BOth of mine do and i do dvi-hdmi for my tv...?
