The Tube, 28-2 has been dropped as of 1-1-2007 on all the Sinclair stations that were carrying it.

:D

WOO HOO!

Higher bitrate on 28-1 just in time for the BCS National Championship game!

I did a bitrate check on the Notre Dame game...

14.89 mb/sec

better than channel 4

I'll miss the Tube too!. It had the best videos. Much better than VH1.

There is a market for channels with good music videos. It was much better than MTV or VH1.

Since they didn't have commercials, they only made money on marketing some Tube stuff online, I think. Not a very sound business plan.

I have a big objection the subchannel concept of robbing bandwidth from a feature program to show marginal content.

The concept may be workable with low bitrate subchannel content such as a weather map and voice-over, but music videos need a high bitrate to look and sound decent. WTTE was bit-starving on both the main channel and the sub-channel.

Is their an easy way to see the Bit rate of a channel?

No.
I recorded about 5 minutes of the Sugar Bowl on my PC using the MyHD capture card with WOW cable hooked up to it. I imported the transport stream into the VideoReDo MPEG editor and used the diagnostics to analyze the bitrate.

If the Tube is gone, why do I still have a signal? No content, just carrier.
