I just bought a Sony 42 inch LCD HD tv for my son's play area - for his shows recorded off of DTV, playing Xbox/Xbox 360/PS2 and watching DVDs - my question - i just had Wideopenwest w/HD installed (instead of dropping another $300 for a HD DVR) and was really disappointed with the quality of the picture. WHen watching DVD, i was pleased, but HD content off of WOW was blurred and not as sharp as compared to DTV HD shown on my other HD tvs. So, i don't know if it's becuase of my cable provider or the 720P/1080i image. Does anyone have pros/cons of having Wideopenwest's HD signal?

I've had very few problems with Wideopenwest's HD signal. PQ is just as good as OTA on HD content. Not all installers are compentent when it comes to HDTV. Are you sure they connected their STB to your HDTV properly? For HD it must be connected via Component, DVI, or HDMI. It is also possible they mistakenly set the STB to always output something like 480p. Since you have a fixed panel display, you will want to set the STB to always output to the native resolution of your HDTV, which I assume is 720p. Assuming you have a 3250HD, you can enter the setup wizard as follows:
1) STB off, HDTV on
2) Press Guide and Info buttons on the front of the STB at the same time
3) Follow the on-screen intructions and use the Remote to navigate.

I've had WOW for a few years and never once had a problem with their hd content. It all looks spectacular. I think the fault has to be with the way it is set up, either by the installer or otherwise. The other poster is likely right...seems you may be hooked up via coax or something.
My cable box is set up to indicate when I switch to an HD station what resolution is being used. So if I switch to 211, I get a display that says 720p as it flickers in.

The connection is Component out to my receiver, which also has component out to the tv.
By the way, it's a Rear Projection Sony 3LCD - A10 not the flat panel LCD
