Can you get national network feeds in HD from DirecTV in the Columbus area?

Welcome to the forum rlutze! Currently, the only national feed DirecTV offers for the Columbus area is NBC. The reason for this is because WCMH-DT is owned and operated by NBC. In order to receive the other feeds, a waiver request must be submitted to the local broadcast stations and approved. Unfortuneately, if you live in Columbus, regardless of your situation, you can receive the analog signals; and the local broadcast stations will subsequently deny your request based on this.

I thought that I would also point out that Columbus is scheduled for HD locals in MPEG4 sometime in spring of '06.

According to Directv, in 2004 they were able to provide National NBC feeds and then sometime in 2005, they started denying us this feed. They informed me that it was because if you live in a certain proximity to get the HD signal via an OTA, then your waiver request will be denyed.
As Scott stated above, Directv should be offering locals in HD (keep your fingers crossed for a Sinclair deal) sometime in Spring 2006.

I know they cut off the West Coast feed this year, but the East Coast should still be active (at least it is for me). You may want to call DirecTV to get this added back (if you want it).

I got my channel 82 turned off earlier this year. I called DirecTV, but they wouldn't turn it back on.

Interesting... I guess I won't call DirecTV to confirm and risk losing it (it makes a nice backup during upgrades and such of WCMH-DT).
