Anyone else notice the new HD channel on TW? I assume that this is so we'll be able to watch some Blue Jacket's games in HD. How is it that we can get this, but not standard Fox in HD? (Not that I'm complaining about getting FOXHD mind you.)

I saw it a week or so ago. That evening it was showing a Blue Jackets game and it looked really nice. That's the only thing I happened to see on that channel though except test patterns.

All of the college football games are also in HD on DirecTV channel 95. Sometimes it is blacked out on that channel if it is not being carried on FSN Ohio. Last week it was on even though there was a MAC game on FSN Ohio at the same time. The Blue Jackets game on October 9 was also on in HD on DirecTV channel 95, but I don't know if that means they will all be on that channel.
I believe there is also a DirecTV channel 96 that carries the "extra" RSN games in HD, but it is only available on the new MPEG4 boxes.

foxsportshd is owned by fox, the local fox channel isn't owned by fox, it's owned by sinclair media, that's why you don't get that channel.

It looks like WOW finally picked this channel up this year. I noticed this morning that it is showing up as channel 220. It says HD Promo, but they are showing the USC vs. Oregon State game right now.

Has anyone caught any info on what CBJ games will be broadcast in HD on Fox HD. Or what TWC plans are regarding airing said games. Seeing as how they were never able to come to any sort of agreement with Fox HD and did not show one single Reds game in HD.

Columbus Blue Jackets, FSN Ohio Announce 2007-08 Telecast Schedule
Blue Jackets Staff | Writer
Sep 18, 2007, 2:21 PM EDT
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and television partner FSN Ohio released the 2007-08 telecast schedule as the network will once again carry 75 regular season games live, including 24 in High Definition, starting Friday, Oct. 5, when the Blue Jackets open their seventh National Hockey League season at home with a 7 p.m. game against defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks.
Thirteen of FSN Ohio's High Definition telecasts will originate from Nationwide Arena along with 11 on the road. Central Ohio viewers who have HD televisions equipped with a digital cable box can find the HD broadcasts on Time Warner's channel 753 and Insight’s channel 929.
"We're pleased to partner with FSN Ohio to offer our fans 75 broadcasts of Blue Jackets hockey including an expanded high definition schedule. FSN Ohio will once again offer fans throughout Ohio unparalleled access and coverage of the Blue Jackets," said the club's Vice-President of Marketing Marc Gregory.
FSN Ohio will air 39 home games and 36 away contests during the 2007-08 regular season. Highlights of this year's television schedule include 29 of the 32 rivalry games against Central Division foes Detroit, St. Louis, Nashville and Chicago. The schedule also features the team’s 10 inter-conference games against Eastern Conference opponents in the Northeast and Southeast divisions, including a Feb. 5 home contest against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. In addition, FSN Ohio will carry the Blue Jackets' string of consecutive road games against Canadian opponents - Toronto (Feb. 19), Ottawa (Feb. 21) and Montreal (Feb. 23).
"FSN Ohio is thrilled to offer Blue Jackets fans 24 games in high definition this season," said FSN Ohio's Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Liverani. "As the leading sports television network in the region, FSN Ohio will provide fans with more access, information and in-depth coverage of the Columbus Blue Jackets than ever before."
The FSN Ohio-Blue Jackets broadcast team once again features play-by-play announcer Jeff Rimer alongside color analyst and former NHL All-Star Danny Gare. Coverage each game night begins with Blue Jackets Live presented by your Central Ohio Toyota Dealers, a pre-game show featuring player interviews and analysis 30 minutes prior to each game. Immediately following the final horn, the coverage continues with post-game highlights and analysis on Blue Jackets Live presented by Direct Energy.
Blue Jackets radio network analyst Bill Davidge joins the television team for the pre-game edition of Blue Jackets Live hosted by Jeff Hogan from Nationwide Arena, and Jim Day from the road. The home and road post-game shows are hosted by Jim Day.
On a national level, Versus will feature one Blue Jackets contest when Columbus hosts Dallas at Nationwide Arena on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. In addition, NBC has selected the Mar. 16 home matinee against Detroit as one of the three games on their flex schedule for that Sunday afternoon.
Individual tickets for 2007-08 regular season home games, including the Oct. 5 Opening Night contest vs. Anaheim, are on sale now at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, FSN Ohio Blue Line locations at The Chiller Ice Rinks and The Mall at Tuttle Crossing and all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers. Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have a question in regards to channel 753 on Time Warner (FSN Ohio HD).
Will they only be broadcasting at certain times? In other words, they'll only broadcast some games and some of the shows after the games on that channel? I would like to watch more on that channel, but so far I haven't had anything come through.
If that's the case, then I can call Time Warner and cancel the service call on Friday morning. Thanks all!

Fox Sportsnet HD only broadcasts a few games, it's not a "24 hour" network. TW origianlly carried the channel 24-7 but when there wasn't an HD game being broadcast, all it had on it was a FSN logo that rotated around. The Current schedule for FSN HD is available here (http://msn.foxsports.com/name/HD)
so in reality they turn the channel on when they need it or it is broadcasting. have seen a few of the Jackets games on it, and it's pretty good.

Thank you! That's how I was interpreting the thread, and I wanted to verify that my interpretation was correct.
I'm looking forward to seeing some Jackets games in HD!

They have had some problems with the feeds, but when it is working properly, the games look beautiful! Crossing my fingers for tonight's game against Nashville.

I don't know about you, but it's not coming in for me. I called Time Warner to ask about it, and they don't know anything about it being blacked out or why I might not be getting it :(
I REALLY want to watch a Jackets game in HD. That was one of the things I was looking forward to getting HD cable.
EDIT: it may be blacked out (for Time Warner at least) because it's on one of the sports package channels. I think it's on 623 on Time Warner.

Its not blacked out, I'm watching it right now on channel 754 as fox Sports, but channel is showing versus. I've noticed TW do this a few times, instead of bringing up 752 they broadcast it on 754 since Versus doesn't seem to have many good HD games/sports programs, tend to just upconvert a lot of programming.

You're right! I missed the first two periods of the game in HD because TW can't broadcast it on the channel that it's supposed to be on. They apparently don't tell their reps when they change the broadcast channel either.
I appreciate the heads up! At least I can watch the last period in HD.
I'll keep on eye on this kind of thing for Sunday's game.

honavery... look at my post from 10/31, TW only turns on this channel when it's actually broadcasting an HD game. Instead of it taking up a channel 24/7 they only turn it on when needed. In the beginning TW carried it as did most of the cable companies around the state. However when it's not broadcasting a game all it had was a FSN logo that rotated around and that's it. It's not an upconverted version of FSN ohio.

Ok, I see what you mean. But I looked at the schedule you posted earlier, and the Jackets/Ducks game is supposed to be on right now, and I still don't see that channel. Do you have to "refresh" the guide or something?

odd...i see the same...usually they broadcast it on 752 or 754, but it's not on either. someone may have forgotten, best bet is to call TW. I can't find the schedule of games that TW had a few months ago. Usually if people call they notice it and put it on. You don't have to refresh the guide, it just works.
