XM has announced their changes to enable them to broadcast in Canada. While Sirius chose to add 10 new Canadian channels to meet CanCon requirements, XM just added a few and eliminated most of the American talk stations. American customers will recieve all of the Canadian stations. You can compare the American lineup at www.xmradio.com with the Canadian lineup at www.xmradio.ca.

Here is a summary of the changes for US customers:

New channels:
153 - Laugh Attack (Canadian comedy)
172 - Franc Parler (Canadian sports in French)
204 - NHL Home Ice (NHL talk)
244 - Canada 360 (Canadian news)
245 - Quoi de Nuef (Canadian news in French)

Changed channels:
52 - (un)Signed (becomes primarily Canadian unsigned)
100 - Air Musique (French Canadian alternative rock, replaces World Zone)
102 - Sur La Route (French Canadian pop, replaces Ngoma)

It looks like the American XM product survived its entry into Canada, but the XM Canada is very weak compared to Sirius Canada.
