Not getting any signal

When I tune to 28-1, my TV (built in receiver) is showing an 88% signal strength and an 88% quality, but I get nothing but black. Other stations such as NBC, CBS, and PBS come in really good. Any ideas why?

I would try a resacn. It is most likely that they were playing around with thier psip data again and it goofed up your reciver.

Ran a scan this morning. The TV found 28-1 and 28-2 and added them to the list, but when we tune to those channels, we get a black screen, and still showing 88% signal.

Well I think you may not be the only one in this boat. This has happend from time to time and usualy it has to due with bad PSIP data ( it can be used to populate guide data and remap the channel from 36-1 to 28-1) being transmited from the staton. I would perhaps try to call the station, but I would not get your hopes up. 6/28 are the absolute worst stations in town.

One last thing to try is to directly tune to 36-1 or 36-2 or any combination of 36-X.

i just checked, i'm getting 28-1. however, nakedeye is right - i've had this problem before and it turned out that it was the engineers making a change. if you call them, i find it effective to call the newscenter and bug them to let you speak with engineering. the newscenter people are real a$$holes, and they don't like to talk to their customers, but that never stops me, i just keep at it until they get tired of me and put me in contact with engineering.

Where at in Columbus are you located?

I am in the Hilliard area (behind the Meijer's on Rome Hilliard Rd (just north of I-70). I have one of these Amplified antenna's sitting on top (balancing precariously) on top my 60" Sony SXRD HDTV.
