No 16:9 coverage of Open Championship

ABC broadcast the weekend rounds of the Open Championship in upconverted 720p widescreen (from PAL), but on neither day has WSYX flipped the switch. The first two rounds were aired appropriately on TNT-HD.

Folks in other markets have reported that the widescreen ABC broadcast is available and appears has been quite well done.

As I type, the paragraph about the British Open upconversion is still on the site.

Yet another case of Sinclair being asleep at the wheel. And they want TWC to pay them for this type of thing. I don't know which company is worse. Might have to suck it up and switch to dish or wow soon.

again, just call them, they'll usually flip the switch. call the newscenter, not the main number.
