DirecTV HD RSN - Columbus?

Is anyone with a MPEG4 setup getting any HD RSN? (SportsTime Ohio HD - Cleveland Indians) on channel 96 or 97? D* announced this, though I'd like to know if these channels are showing up in Columbus.

Need to wait for tonight to see. I would not hold my breath on it. Columbus is not even suppose to get STO let alone get HD. Fight between D* and STO. I get STO on ch 657 but I don't want to call D* about the hd in fear of they my take the SD ch from me.

I used to get both 637 and 638. Foxsports Ohio and Fox sports Cincinnati, but I haven't checked recently. I dunno about 657. Try tonight: Indians @twins @8pm.

I would also check 95, along with 96 and 97. I thought I read on AVS that people were getting YesHD and NESN-HD on channel 95. But it's supposed to be a free upgrade to the HD RSN according to that press release.

I would figure that if it was available our boxes would show these (90s) channels in the "Channels I Receive" page and I didn't see it yesterday when I rescanned OTA for 6-2.

(But I'm on the Mpeg2 HR10, so maybe I'm SOL for this deal)

Yes you are. You need the the H20 and AT-9 antenna for MPEG4.

Thanks. Please post when you find out. I dont have mpeg4 equipment so I can't check. I get 657 fine. If I go to the link below and enter my zip code (43004), it says I am supposed to get STO. So I am not shocked about why I am getting 657.

If they turn on the HD version, I will get the mpeg4 equipment.

Well I was watching Baseball Tonight on ESPN HD and they showed Tribe highlights in SD not HD. Which tells me the game was not produced in HD. So I guess we have to wait until a game is in HD to see if we get the HD RSN.

HD-RSN is supposed to be on tomorrow 7-18-06. You guys with the mpeg-4 equipment, can you post back here and tell us if you receive STO HD on channel 96 or 97 via spot beam. thanks

it could also be 657. I believe they did that for YES, where the SD channel becomes HD for folks who can get it, and remains SD for others. But the Indians are out of town right now.

Anyone follow up on this during the homestand? On avsforum people are discussing an issue in CT where they are not getting NESN (Boston market) HD feeds. Apparently in that case D* is saying only home markets will get the HD broastcast.

So far no I am not getting it, but I have not call D* either. Sometimes you have to call to get them to throw the switch.

I had to call them to activate the SD STO channel in April. They gave me Sports Pack free for a month to "make sure" it turned on properly. Apparently it's not an exact science even for SD chans.
